Stephanie Izquieta joined SSDP in 2013 as a junior in college when she founded SUNY Binghamton’s SSDP chapter. She continued her involvement by serving as a chapter leader until her election onto SSDP’s Board of Directors. Stephanie graduated from Binghamton University with a B.A in Philosophy, Politics, and Law.
Prior to joining the SSDP Board, she interned at the Drug Policy Alliance in New York City to immerse herself in the drug reform movement and strengthen her leadership skills. In addition to crafting SSDP’s strategy, Stephanie was a co-director at TEDxBinghamtonUniversity. In this role, she prioritized TED’s mission of sharing ideas and invited Gabriel Sayegh of the Drug Policy Alliance to give a TEDx talk about the Drug War. In addition to her drug reform work she was a McNair Scholar, Google Student Ambassador, and held a job in the corporate world until she quit to join the National Cannabis Bar Association. Stephanie was raised in Queens, New York and enjoys longboarding, yoga, and Bassnectar.
