On Friday April 4th the Obama administration signaled that it was willing to work with congress to re-examine how marijuana is scheduled. Eric Holder said on Friday: “We’d be more than glad to work with Congress if there is a desire to look at and reexamine how the drug is scheduled, as I said there is a great degree of expertise that exists in Congress,”

H.B 499 would remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act, it would also rename the federal bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana and Firearms. You can find the full text of the bill here.

Now that Obama is “ready to work with congress” let’s put congress to work!
