Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) recently introduced a bill to the U.S. Senate that would end federal prohibition of marijuana. The short title of the bill is the “Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2015.” It is modeled after a House bill first introduced by Representative Jared Polis (D-Colo.) in 2013.
This legislation would remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act, and allow states to decide how to deal with marijuana on their own.
