Campaigns and Outreach Intern: Based in San Francisco, CA

Students for Sensible Drug Policy, a grassroots political advocacy organization with a member network of tens of thousands and a full-time national staff of five, is seeking a highly motivated individual to help promote alternatives to the failed War on Drugs. This is a part-time, unpaid internship that may be able to count toward class credit.

SSDP's San Francisco office currently staffs two full-time employees. Interns assist SSDP's associate director and outreach director in day-to-day tasks as well as campaign implementation, event planning, and outreach.
Duties of the campaigns and outreach intern may include:

-Policy research and analysis
-International conference planning and promotion
-New media outreach (Facebook, YouTube, blogs, etc)
-Planning local fundraising events with live entertainment
-Promoting SSDP at local schools, events, and conferences (flyering, tabling, etc)
-Writing website articles
-Providing general assistance to SSDP members across North America
-Administrative tasks (making copies, post office trips, etc.), not to exceed 35% of the intern's work
-Other projects that fall in line with the intern's skills or goals

Prior experience with political advocacy work is valued but not necessary. However, a passion for reforming harmful drug policies and a willingness to learn new skills are essential.

How to Apply:

Interested applicants should e-mail a one-page resume to Associate Director Micah Daigle at micah@ssdp.org.
