EDITORS NOTE
When SSDP hired me last
May to organize and grow our alumni network, we all agreed that we needed a
vehicle to both highlight some of the best SSDP chapters’ efforts and inspire
our supporters to continue their investment in positive change. We chose the name
“Catalyst” because SSDP chapters are not only accelerating drug policy change
both on their campuses and nationally, but also sharing creative ideas,
passion, and expertise. We achieve synergy through our connections to each
other. I hope the Catalyst becomes
another thread that ties together our youth movement to end the War on Drugs.
Catalyst
1. Chemistry- a substance that causes or accelerates a
chemical reaction without itself being affected.
2. a
person or thing that precipitates an event or change.
3. a
person whose talk, enthusiasm, or energy causes others to be more friendly,
enthusiastic, or energetic.
