Justin Holmes

Justin Holmes is a member of SUNY New Paltz SSDP. He received the Outstanding Student Activist Award at SSDP's 2004 National Conference.
Justin is the founder of Skate For Justice, an annual 48.9 mile journey from Binghamton, NY to Ithaca, NY on roller blades. The event was designed to raise awareness about the harms caused by the War on Drugs, as well as to shatter the stereotype that drug policy reformers are "lazy stoners."
Justin was elected to serve as student body president in 2006, but was subsequently expelled from school on dubious charges of harassment. After winning a federal injunction, Justin has been allowed to return to school.
Justin also founded Wiki Paltz, a wiki site that allows anyone to create and edit news stories about SUNY New Paltz and the town of New Paltz, NY.

Justin is well known at drug policy events and conferences for his tendency to throat sing and play Final Fantasy and Peanuts songs on hotel pianos.
He also quotes his favorite movies extensively, most notably The Big Lebowski and Office Space.
