SSDP's 15-member Board of Directors is responsible for shaping the broad vision and direction of the organization. Currently, the board is made up of:

• Doug McVay, Appointed from Common Sense for Drug Policy
• Matthew Palevsky, Chair
• Amy Phillips, Appointed from the Institute for Humane Studies
• Matthew Potter
• Jon Perri
• Constance Sisk
• Eric Sterling, Appointed from the Criminal Justice Policy Foundation

Additionally, SSDP's Executive Director Kris Krane serves on the board.
