Róisín Downes ’15

Global Program Coordinator

Róisín joined the SSDP staff as Global Program Coordinator in June 2019. She works out of Ireland remotely supporting all the non-US chapters and chapter members as their point of contact with SSDP.

Róisín joined SSDP in 2015 as a casual member and by her final year of her undergraduate degree she became Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Dublin City University chapter. During her term as Vice Chair Róisín dedicated her time to on campus policy reform and the Irish decriminalisation campaign. Furthermore, she was a key organiser of the Irish National Conference which created the first SSDP Irish National Strategy.

Róisín studied Bachelors of Business Studies International in Dublin City University, where she specialised in Economics and gained fluency in Spanish. She speaks Irish fluently, which is in fact a real language. (and no it’s not gaelic)
