Students for Sensible Drug Policy is encouraging all of our U.S. members, alumni, and supporters to start making calls and get out the vote for Georgia’s special election on January 5th.

Drug policy reform and the progress we have made this year is on the line this run-off election. The MORE Act, which just passed the House of Representatives on Friday, is looking to face a much more difficult fight in the Senate. These two Senate seats will have major impacts on the future of drug policy reform in the United States, and will very likely have ripple effects globally.

We can not afford to wait two, four, or six more years for better legislators while marginalized people are being arrested for minor marijuana offenses. We must use our vote to support sensible cannabis policy reform.

If you’re not currently in Georgia, you can still phonebank and text-bank from home! Please register to volunteer with New Georgia Project here.
