We are excited to announce that Sarah Noon ‘18, who joined the leadership team of our U.S. Policy Council in December, is our new U.S. Federal Policy Liaison!
Sarah will be primarily responsible for assisting the development and implementation of SSDP’s United States federal legislative strategies and co-facilitating our United States Policy Council.
Sarah recently graduated from Oakland Community College, where she was the president and founder of OCC’s Students for Sensible Drug Policy chapter, which was awarded the Rising Star Chapter award in 2020. She is passionate about advocacy for working-class families, youth engagement, and sensible drug legislation leading her to also serve as Michigan Democratic Institution for Civic Engagement’s Drug Policy Issue Director, preparing a lobby day by students to advocate for the Clean Slate Package. She intends to pursue a Bachelors of Arts, and seeks to continue organizing for progressive policies.
As we push to move from fear-based, hateful policies to sensible policies based on compassion, science, and evidence-based approaches to drugs and drug policy, we need your support to develop our U.S. Policy Council. Please sign up to join the U.S. Policy Council using this form!
