In July, Students for Sensible Drug Policy celebrated the achievements of our members during Global Week. To provide even more support to our members all over the world, our Global Program will be expanding. Over the next year, the SSDP global team will establish an office in Vienna to access new funding opportunities, increase our presence at the United Nations, and create a structure that accommodates regional and cultural differences across our network. This strategic expansion will provide members with a whole new world of opportunities for reform. To support this powerful new endeavor, please make a gift to our International Activities Fund.
We are excited to announce that last week, Joseph Macias joined the SSDP Global Team as Director of Development! Since 2007, Joseph has lived in Washington, DC, and has worked in a variety of realms: helping our paralyzed veterans, advancing earth and space science, advocating for civil rights, and growing the green economy for people and the planet. With decades of fundraising experience, a passion for training young new fundraisers, and a commitment to ending the War on Drugs, we are so thrilled to have him join our team and help grow SSDP and support our members.
Speaking of growing SSDP, our annual Strategy Summit, where SSDP Board and Team members get together to develop the organization’s strategy is approaching, and we will be working on a multi-year plan for SSDP. Have a proposal for Strategy Summit? Submit yours here.
