On December 1st, 2020, SSDP’s U.S. Policy Council Tactical Team voted to add Sarah Noon ‘18 as a member of our leadership team. Sarah will be the point person for our Campus Change, Cannabis, and Scientific Research Issue Groups.
Sarah Noon recently graduated from Oakland Community College, where she was the president and founder of OCC’s Students for Sensible Drug Policy chapter, awarded the Rising Star Chapter 2020 award. She is passionate about advocacy for working-class families, youth engagement, and sensible drug legislation leading her to also serve as Michigan Democratic Institution for Civic Engagement’s Drug Policy Issue Director, preparing a lobby day by students to advocate for the Clean Slate Package. She intends to pursue a Bachelors of Arts, and seeks to continue organizing for progressive policies!
Post MORE Act victory, we are building up our leadership team to use the drug policy reform momentum of our time to our advantage. Getting marijuana legalization through the Senate will be an uphill battle, but we have an incredibly talented and passionate membership willing to take on these hard fights.
