Note from the team
For many, December is a quiet month, but if you follow us on social media, you already know that we have been as busy as ever. You can read all about what we were up to — things like creating tools to make advocating for drug policy at the United Nations more accessible and launching the Psychedelic Pipeline mentorship program — in the December Report Card.
As we predicted, 2020 is off to a wild start! Just a week in, and we’re already in full gear for one of the biggest years of drug policy reform proposals we’ve ever seen. Cannabis legalization, expansion of safe consumption facilities, and all-drug decriminalization are just a few of the cutting-edge issues gaining traction everywhere you might find an SSDPer around the globe. Yet some members continue to fight murderous regimes or incarceration when they speak up for human rights. No matter the drug policy issue, we know we can find bright, passionate, energized collaborators in SSDP, so we’re gearing up for the largest annual gathering of members at #Sensible2020, our international conference.
Of course, we can’t do it without you, and this month we want to particularly thank the 200+ people who collectively gifted more than $123,000 during our 2nd annual Cannabis Challenge Match. We will put each one of those dollars to its best use as we cultivate today’s drug policy and tomorrow’s drug policy reform leaders.
