Today is the last chance for gifts made to Students for Sensible Drug Policy to be doubled this year

2020 is almost over, and I’m sure you’re as excited as I am to head into 2021. This year was filled with enormous challenges and tragedy. We’ve witnessed death and devastation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, global civil unrest and upheaval, a tense geopolitical landscape, and record-breaking numbers of preventable drug overdoses.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and young people are guiding the way.

Our student and youth members have continued to persevere with their vision of the future, a world where justice, equality, and compassion drive policies and people. SSDPers are flexible, resourceful, and determined to win. They have reinvented organizing in a socially-distanced world, and have made incredible accomplishments this year. In spite of the turmoil of 2020, this was a pivotal year for drug policy reform with successes that truly mark a shift to a new paradigm where drug use is treated as a public health issue and not a criminal one.

Success is not inevitable, it was built on the backs of grassroots activists fighting for years. Young people have been on the frontlines of every social movement in the last century. We need your help to equip our young people with the tools they need to create a better world. There’s no better time than right now to make your tax-deductible gift, and all donations made before midnight tonight will be matched until we reach $55,000.

What would you give to make ending the War on Drugs a reality?
