Use your CAT points to get to the Reform Conference this fall

Our friends at Drug Policy Alliance are hosting their biennial Reform Conference in St. Louis, Missouri this November and they’ve generously allocated scholarship funding for members of Students for Sensible Drug Policy! The Reform Conference is the largest conference on the issue of drug policy reform. It brings together more than 1,500 people who believe that the War on Drugs has failed. It’s an incredible experience that no drug policy reformer should miss!  SSDPers interested in applying for this Reform 2019 scholarship can expect a similar process to using the Chapter Activity Tracker (CAT)* points for SSDP conferences. Chapter members may exchange CAT points on a one-to-one ratio (i.e. one point equals one dollar discounted from the registration price).  In order to use your CAT points for this opportunity, please send an email to outreach@ssdp.org with the following information for each member applying to the scholarship:
  1. Full name
  2. Best email and phone number to reach them
  3. Do they need lodging?**
  4. How much do they need to be discounted from the registration pricing (ex: Early bird student registration is $290. If the person can pay $50 towards that, they would need $240 discounted, which would “cost” 240 CAT points)?
Because we have a limited amount of hotel rooms and scholarship funds, requests to use CAT points to attend the Reform Conference will be considered in the order in which they are received via email to outreach@ssdp.org; furthermore, only active students may apply to this scholarship, and up to four students per chapter will be accepted, so be sure to get that message to us as soon as you know how many members will be applying and what their needs are likely to be.  The deadline to make CAT point arrangements for Reform Conference scholarships has been extended; we will continue distributing scholarships on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last! Your SSDP staff member will check your CAT balance and confirm you have the points to spend, before deducting the points and making all of the necessary arrangements.   Keep in mind that in order to be eligible to spend CAT points, you must have submitted a roster of your members within the last 6 months.  For more information, reach out to your SSDP staff member or to outreach@ssdp.org. *All established chapters are automatically set up with a CAT login. Ambassadors who are ready to start earning points should contact their SSDP staff member for a CAT login. **Lodging is a flat rate of 150 CAT points. This covers one spot in a shared hotel room (with three other SSDPers) for four nights in our block at the Union Station hotel.
