
Join Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) for Anchored In Altered States, a networking happy hour event at The Nave in Anchorage on Thursday, August 14th. An evening anchoring community through connection and advocacy with community organizations with Students for Liberty, Natural Medicine Alaska, and SSDP.
Doors open at 5:30 PM. Complimentary beer and seltzers are included in the ticket price. Network with drug policy advocates and learn how you can get involved with local psychedelic policy reform.
At 6:00 PM, psychedelic journalist and documentarian Hamilton Morris, from Vice’s “Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia” will debut his short new film about Sasha Shulgin’s compound Ariadne followed by a Q&A. The legendary Acid King, William Leonard Pickard, will be sharing personal stories of his time with the Shulgins to pass on the oral history of our psychedelic elders. Leonard will be available for a meet and greet and Q&A following his storytelling session.
Kat Murti, SSDP’s Executive Director, will invite leaders from Natural Medicine Alaska and Students for Liberty to the stage for introduction on each organization and how you can get involved with local drug policy reform. Guests will also learn how to become an SSDP Ambassador to join the fight to end The War on Drugs.
