Override the Governor’s Veto on the Heroin Crisis Act
The Illinois state Senate is voting on a Heroin Crisis bill that was recently vetoed by the state’s Governor. In his veto, the Governor called to strip funding from medicaid for drug treatment, and to strip the bill of its other heroin prevention and treatment funding as well. The state’s House of Representatives has already overridden this veto, and a state Senate lobby day has been organized for September 9, 2015. State advocates are calling on all Illinois residents who want to promote sensible harm reduction policies to attend the lobby day, or if they are unable to physically join, send in e-mail contacts to their state Senators.
Note: this action is for Illinois residents only.
