New York: Support a Medical Marijuana Program in the State of New York

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) will use his State of the State address Wednesday, January 8th, to announce he will sign an executive order to allow the limited use of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Governor Cuomo’s announcement on Saturday that he supports medical marijuana is a huge step forward. Given that the state senate has long blocked legislation, Governor Cuomo announced his intention to revive a 1980 medical marijuana program – called the Olivieri law – which will start the process of developing a medical marijuana program in New York until such time that comprehensive legislation is passed. This is a great step forward, and now Governor Cuomo urgently needs to hear from you to insure that the New York legislature passes a robust, comprehensive medical marijuana program that is truly accessible to all seriously ill patients.

Please contact Governor Cuomo as many ways as you can between now and Wednesday morning, when he delivers his State of the State address.
