A discussion between Gül Dölen, MD, PhD. and Hamilton Morris about the current state of psychedelic research and the enduring legacy of Sasha and Ann Shulgin.

  • Dr. Gül Dölen is a Professor and the Renee and Bob Parsons Endowed chair in the Department of Psychology, the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, and the Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, Dr. Dölen maintains an adjunct professorship in Neuroscience and Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she previously served as an Assistant and Associate Professor. Dr. Dölen earned her M.D., Ph.D. at Brown University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University.
  • Hamilton Morris is an American journalist, documentarian, and scientific researcher. He is the creator and director of the television series Hamilton's Pharmacopeia, in which he covered the chemistry, history, and cultural impact of various psychoactive drugs, particularly psychedelics. Morris is considered to be among the world's leading psychoactive drug journalists.
  • Finn McGuinness is SSDPs "Listen to Scientists" Program Assistant and currently works in a psychiatric treatment center for major depressive disorder. Finn earned his undergraduate degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Western Washington University (WWU) and is a former member of Dr. Josh Kaplan's research group, where he investigated the therapeutic and developmental effects of cannabinoids.
