
Jackson Rund
Vice Chair & Global Policy Lead// Elected Director
Jackson Rund is a student leader, advocate, and researcher focused on evidence-based drug policy, harm reduction, and equal access to medicine. His involvement with Students for Sensible Drug Policy began at Lake Superior State University, where he founded the campus chapter and integrated it into the student government association. In 2025, he represented SSDP at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum, delivering formal interventions and participating in global discussions on the role of drug policy reform and harm reduction in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. Through this work, he engaged directly with Member State representatives, civil society leaders, and youth delegates to elevate evidence-based approaches to drug policy within broader international development conversations. Jackson currently serves as Vice Chair of SSDP’s Board of Directors and Vice Chair of SSDP’s Global Drug Policy Committee. He graduated from Lake Superior State University with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Cannabis Business and Cannabis Chemistry, with minors in Biochemistry and Biology. His work bridges policy and industry through involvement in cannabis research, analytical method development, and product safety initiatives. His scientific and regulatory experience includes developing a cannabinoid potency and profiling method for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, participation in ASTM International Committee D37 on Cannabis, and collaboration with the Cannabis Regulators Association on cannabis testing and regulatory science. Jackson is passionate about empowering students and strengthening SSDP’s impact as a credible, youth-led force for drug policy reform.
