Karley Snyder '22

Karley Snyder, MPA, PMP, Prosci®, is a harm reduction advocate and public health leader dedicated to advancing drug policy reform and overdose prevention. She currently serves as Appointed Director of SSDP, after previously serving as Board Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. Throughout her career, Karley has worked at the intersection of research, policy, and community action, helping translate evidence into practical solutions that save lives and strengthen communities. As a Senior Training and Technical Assistance Liaison at Aptive Resources, she supports national suicide prevention and crisis response initiatives, including SAMHSA’s 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Zero Suicide Evaluation. Previously, Karley worked at the University of Pittsburgh, where she supported federal and state efforts to address the overdose crisis, expand harm reduction services, and strengthen suicide prevention systems. Her work advancing community-based overdose prevention initiatives in Pennsylvania contributed to a statistically significant reduction in overdose deaths. Karley is passionate about expanding connections and support systems that advance compassionate, evidence-based drug policies and improve health outcomes for marginalized communities. She holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Social Policy from the University of Pittsburgh and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology and Nonfiction Writing.
