🚨 ACTION ALERT🚨 Help SSDP stop the criminalization of SR-17018!
On July 1st, 2026, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) published a temporary order to place 5,6-dichloro desmethylchlorphine or SR-17018 into Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
SR-17018 was developed by researchers studying opioid receptor signaling as part of an effort to separate pain relief from respiratory depression, tolerance, and dependence, and shows promise as a safer alternative to current opioid drugs for chronic pain treatment. Schedule I will temporarily or permanently put an end to this crucial research.
The order is scheduled to become law on or after July 31st, 2026, giving researchers, distributors, and other concerned parties a mere 30 days to act.
