SSDP Celebrates 28 Years – Cannabis Law Report
This October 1st, SSDP celebrated its 28th year birthday! Cannabis Law Report gave readers a brief history of SSDP’s founding and history, along with a sign-up link to become an SSDP Ambassador. Cannabis Law Report says,
“On October 1, 1998, a group of students at the Rochester Institute of Technology decided to rename their campus organizing group and call themselves Students for Sensible Drug Policy.
Twenty-eight years later, we’ve grown from a single chapter in upstate New York to a global network spanning hundreds of campuses and communities in dozens of countries, led by students and alumni who are shaping drug policy at every level of government.
This month, we celebrate not just how far we’ve come, but all the work still ahead.
But if SSDP’s first 28 years have taught us anything, it’s that students and young people have the power to change that—and they shouldn’t have to do it alone.
Happy birthday to us, and to everyone who has ever been part of the SSDP family. Together, we WILL end the War on Drugs.”
