Anna Meyer

Program Assistant (Breaking the Paper Shackles)

Anna Meyer is a harm reductionist and criminal legal reform advocate. She currently works as a Harm Reduction Specialist in Brooklyn, connecting people experiencing homelessness and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders with community resources, harm reduction supplies, and treatment providers. She is also SSDP’s Program Assistant for the Breaking the Paper Shackles project, where she is developing a 50-state expungement guide and supporting the launch of SSDP’s Law and Justice Committee. She studied Philosophy and Prison Studies at Vassar College, where she founded and served as president of the college’s SSDP chapter. Anna has worked with local, state, and federal drug policy and harm reduction organizations to empower people who use drugs and advocate for meaningful reforms that prioritize ending the War on Drugs and framing substance use as a public health issue.
