Tell President Biden to Keep Your Promise!

Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) has partnered with the Last Prisoner Project to conduct a series of actions aimed at pressuring President Biden to release the nation’s federal cannabis prisoners. We are seeking people who are ready willing and able to escalate pressure on the president until all our cannabis prisoners are home. Our demand is simple: “Follow through on your campaign promise to release all cannabis prisoners or we will remind the nation of your role in creating mass incarceration.” For more information on the nuts and bolts of clemency work please visit the Last Prisoner Projects “Time to heal” page and join their letter writing campaign Unfortunately President Biden will not take action unless pushed to do so by the people. Join us in building a movement disruptive enough to force him to follow through on his promise.

US Actions

Tell Congress to Support Federal Cannabis Reform

Federal cannabis prohibition has fueled unnecessary arrests, prison sentences, and criminalized millions of people. Nearly a quarter of a million people are arrested yearly exclusively for cannabis possession across the United States, even in states where cannabis has been legalized. Despite the majority of US citizens supporting cannabis legalization and state-level regulation, cannabis remains illegal at the federal level. Outdated laws hinder research, regulate businesses unfairly, and lead to the imprisonment of people for unjust reasons.

ACT NOW

Stop Cannabis Recriminalization in Massachusetts

Two dangerous ballot initiatives, 25-09 and 25-10, threaten to undermine cannabis legalization in Massachusetts. Since Massachusetts voters legalized adult-use cannabis in 2016, the state has reduced arrests, lowered youth use rates, and created a thriving, regulated industry–but all this is at risk if these measures pass. Don’t let prohibitionists take away the great progress Massachusetts has made in advancing cannabis equity!

Tell Massachusetts State Congress Members that ballot initiatives 25-09 and 25-10 are bad policy for The Bay State, and help SSDP stop the recriminalization of cannabis today!

ACT NOW

Legalize Cannabis in Pennsylvania

With over 11,000 cannabis possession arrests in Pennsylvania in recent years and growing support from Governor Shapiro, momentum is building for legalization grounded in equity and safety. Neighboring states have already legalized adult use, and Pennsylvania is now a laggard in policy and tax revenue potential (projected first-year revenue over $500M).

Stop Meta Censorship

Meta’s platforms are among the most powerful communication tools in human history. With that power comes significant responsibility.

Censorship of science, public health, legal, and public policy discourse is not an act of neutrality; it causes harm. As the cultural and legal landscapes around these issues evolve, so too must your policies. We urge you to act now, to stand with truth, compassion, and innovation.
