Overview

Brooke Sanders, MS is a translational neuroscientist focused on understanding the epigenetic impacts of synthetic cannabinoids on the human genome. She received her Master’s of Science in Biomedical Research at Wake Forest School of Medicine, and has been researching the neuropsychiatric and sociological impacts of cannabis use for 6 years. Brooke founded North Carolina’s first university based opioid overdose response and education chapter, and soon became the President of SSDP at Wake Forest. Outside of research, she is passionate about optimizing scientific communication to the general public, and making science accessible for all. Brooke is determined to better connect research scientists with policy makers in order to develop evidence-based decisions in government.
