Chris Gagnon ’24

Overview

Chris Gagnon is a Chemist, Neuroscientist, and former Medical Worker that recognizes the need for equitable access to and ethical conduct of Research and Medicine within Drug Science. Chris believes that the best way to work towards that is by advocating for drug policy reform. He joined the SSDP in the fight to stand up for Science against the DEA push to schedule DOI & DOC in 2024. Following this, he joined the SSDP’s Science Policy Council to continue working towards science-based Drug Policy reform.

Chris believes that two important pillars in life are Community and Communication. In his spare time, he volunteers with organizations in his home State to help facilitate access to resources and information that benefit members of his underserved community. Seeing the importance of Communication within Research motivated Chris to begin archiving, as he believes Communication is only beneficial when the intent and ideas are preserved for future reference.

He hopes that through his work, we as a nation can develop the pipelines necessary to support novel Drug Science research and research that not only permits drug assisted treatments but also seeks to maximize their benefit for patients.
