SSDP is proud to be a co-sponsor for the 4th Annual Florida Harm Reduction Conference taking place at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront from January 26-29, 2026.
The call for abstracts and posters are now open. We invite submissions that advance harm reduction practice, research, policy, and community empowerment, especially those centering marginalized, under-resourced, or historically excluded populations.
The theme of the conference this year is: Advancing Harm Reduction in the South: Wisdom, Outreach, Kindness, and Empowerment. Harm Reduction is founded on the Wisdom of People with Living/Lived Experiences and centers itself on policies and services proven to be effective. Harm Reduction reaches out and listens to community. It leads with kindness and care to reduce stigma, disease, and harms caused by the carceral system, but mostly Harm Reduction is about the empowerment of people who use drugs and people in recovery. Empowerment that fosters success in their pursuit of health, wellness, and personal goals. Empowerment that creates a foundation for individual and community centered change.
Submission Guidelines: Presentations should align with the conference theme of harm reduction and its related sub-topics (e.g., substance use, public health, harm reduction policies, harm reduction in marginalized communities, overdose prevention, HIV/Hepatitis C prevention, etc.).
All submissions must be made through this online form by October 31st.
Notifications will be sent by November 26th.
