Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) is dedicated to growing a strong and diverse nationwide network of advocates united to end the War on Drugs. We are eager to meet with local ambassadors in Anchorage, Alaska this week as we travel beyond the new frontier to build community, share knowledge, and expand our membership.
Join us at the Arctic Visions Psychedelic Conference taking place at the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Fine Arts Building this Friday and Saturday. SSDP will be hosting a booth on-site, sharing info on our policy projects, public committees, and our newly launched HOPE program.
On Saturday of the conference, SSDP’s Director of Strategy and Development, Gina Giorgio, along with gina vensel, Director of Communications & Events, will be having an engaging discussion with psychedelic legend Leonard Pickard, “Justice, LSD, and Lessons from the Inside” with stories of his 20 years in prison following one of the largest LSD-related arrests in US history.
Then Executive Director Kat Murti will join journalist Hamilton Morris for a Fireside Chat on Saturday, August 16, covering an intersection of science, journalism, and advocacy with a focus on the DEA’s latest scheduling battles including the DOI & DOC case that we led last year.

Do you have any friends in the Anchorage area? Please invite them to our pre-conference fundraiser TONIGHT, Anchored In Altered States, taking place at 5:30PM AKDT at The Nave.
Hamilon Morris will be premiering a short documentary film followed by storytelling by Leonard Pickard. We’ll have Natural Medicine Alaska on-site to discuss the upcoming ballot measure, and will have voter registrations on-site, and Students for Liberty will be joining us as well!
