
Braden Hopkins ’21

Overview
Braden Hopkins is a senior at The University of Alabama, planning to graduate in May of 2025. She is part of the accelerated masters program, receiving a Master’s of Public Administration and Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science simultaneously. She is also minoring in Communication Studies and Social Innovation and Leadership. On campus, Braden is also a member of the Alabama Forensics Council, the university’s competitive speech and debate team.
Braden became involved with SSDP when she helped create the UA chapter in the spring of 2022. Within UASSDP, Braden has primarily worked with naloxone distribution, securing supplies and organizing outreach events.
Braden has participated in independent undergraduate and graduate research, as well as contracted research with the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Her research areas primarily focus on harm reduction organization structure and communication strategies, as well as recreational drug use. Braden will be pursuing a doctorate in Sociology at (tbd) in the fall of 2025
