Psychedelic Law Starts Here: Gina Giorgio’s Keynote at PsychedelX 2025
At PsychedelX 2025, SSDP’s Director of Strategy and Development Gina Giorgio, MA, delivered a powerful keynote on “Psychedelic Law Starts Here: How You Can Impact Every Level of Government.”
In her talk, Gina outlined actionable ways for students, advocates, and professionals to engage in psychedelic policy reform—from campus organizing and city-level initiatives to shaping state, federal, and even international drug policy at the United Nations. She also shared lessons from her work as founder of the North Carolina Psychedelic Policy Coalition and highlighted SSDP’s role in leading federal and state efforts to advance sensible, equitable psychedelic, cannabis, and harm reduction policies.
“This is a field we’re all co-creating together, and that’s what makes it so beautiful. Spaces like this are shaping young leaders to pave the way forward. I’m excited to share what we’re working on at SSDP—at every level of government—and to offer insights into how you can get involved. When I was first entering this field, I remember seeing all the updates but wondering: how can I actually make an impact? That’s the question we’re here to help you answer,” Gina told attendees.
The session was part of Day 3 of the PsychedelX 2025 conference, which focused on psychology, public health, and policy.
