Join Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) for Anchored In Altered States, a thought-provoking networking event and documentary screening at The Nave in Anchorage on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM AKDT.
The day before SSDP participates in the Arctic Visions Psychedelics Conference, we’re excited to host an evening gathering to bring together community leaders and organizations to foster dialogue and collaboration around psychedelic policy reform. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with local advocates and learn how to engage in meaningful efforts to end the War on Drugs.
Psychedelic journalist and documentarian Hamilton Morris, known for Vice’s Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia, will premiere of his latest short film exploring Ariadne, a lesser-known compound developed by Sasha Shulgin at Anchored In Altered States.
The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Morris and legendary “Acid King” William Leonard Pickard, who will share personal stories from his time with the Shulgins, contributing to the oral history of psychedelic science.
To close the evening, SSDP Executive Director Kat Murti will introduce leaders from partnering organizations, including Students for Liberty and Natural Medicine Alaska, and share how attendees can contribute to ongoing advocacy efforts in Alaska and beyond.
