Finn McGuinness is a graduate of Western Washington University’s (WWU) Behavioral Neuroscience program and a former member of Dr. Josh Kaplan’s research group, where he investigated the therapeutic and developmental effects of cannabinoids in preclinical rodent models. He is a founding member and former leader of WWU’s Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) chapter and was heavily involved in peer-to-peer education and harm reduction efforts on campus.

He is a passionate researcher, advocate, and science communicator endeavoring to end the War on Drugs in furtherance of science-based policies centered on human rights.

Finn currently lives in Bellingham, Washington, and works as a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)/esketamine technician in a psychiatric treatment center for major depressive disorder. He aims to continue his neuroscience education in order to research the therapeutic potential of psychedelics and their mechanisms of action.
