SSDP’s Policy Council is Seeking New Tactical Team Members

Students for Sensible Drug Policy is seeking new student, alumni, and supporter leaders to join our Policy Council’s Tactical Team!

We’ve had a lot of great victories this year: the second passage of the MORE Act in the House of Representatives, a public launch for one of our campaigns to remove funding for enforcing low-level drug penalties at the local level, and our direct action at the White House calling on President Biden to fulfill his promise to release *all* federal cannabis prisoners, among others. To keep our momentum in 2023, we need SSDP chapter members, leaders, alumni, and supporters interested in policy and advocacy to join our Policy Council Tactical Team and help chart out our efforts for next semester.
Our Policy Council Tactical Team sets SSDP’s policy priorities and supports our members with resources, advice, collaborative opportunities, and communicating policy priorities and activities to the network. The full Policy Council meets at least once per month to share updates from issue groups, plan for future activities, review assignments, and discuss other matters. Student leaders and young advocates must have a place in determining the direction of our drug policies; if you are interested in changing drug policies but are not sure where to start, our Tactical Team is a great place for you to start.

If you are interested in applying, please fill out our Tactical Team interest form and our Tactical Team will message you with next steps. If you have any questions regarding the process of have any further questions about what the Tactical Team does or your potential place on it, please email policy@ssdp.org

Applications are due by December 18th, 11:59PM PST!
