Students are Taking Back April
This April, student organizations at Susquehanna University united to mark the 25th anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness Month through powerful initiatives like “Teal Out Day” and “Take Back the Night.” These events, which transformed the campus into a sea of teal, were designed to foster a culture of support, education, and healing for survivors. By reclaiming campus spaces, student leaders sent a clear message that the fight for safety and bodily autonomy is a collective responsibility that requires year-round dedication.
SSDP was proud to join this coalition, participating in the “Take Back the Night” event to highlight the vital intersection between harm reduction and survivor support. By gathering for music, conversation, and advocacy, we helped create a safe environment where students could feel seen and empowered. Our involvement reinforces the SSDP commitment to health-centered policies that prioritize safety, compassion, and the rights of every student in our community.
